Kateryna is a Ukraine-born and London-bred documentary filmmaker and Papaya Young Directors 2021 finalist. Infinitely fascinated by people, her films centre on stories of community, womanhood, migration and the cross-pollination of cultures.


She has directed films for women’s NGOs including Camera Femina and Latin American Women’s Aid, and produced films for the arts & charity sectors. Her short film, Strange Signs, screened at London’s Genesis cinema as part of EFN Short Film Festival’s curated programme, ‘Disability on Screen’, and she contributed a commissioned short to Satellite Films’ collective artists’ film, ‘H is for Hostile Environment’. She is currently working on several local projects with London councils and communities.
